Ownership change at mGov - Ferret still involved
|
mGOV today announced that a private equity partner has acquired a 50% holding in the company from ESP
Limited and a group of investors.
The new ownership structure gives mGov access to over 30 years of strategic management, marketing and IT
consultancy. This complements the company's innovative approach to data gathering and processing for public
sector bodies, based on Ferret Information Systems' 20 years of providing systems for collecting and analysing
citizen data for advice on welfare benefits and other entitlements.
ESP described the move as in line with its new strategy and representing the disposal of an interest which was
now non-core.
Ferret said "we welcome this opportunity to build on the experience we have gained in developing truly mobile
approaches to public administration challenges. The new structure will add significantly to mGov's market
impact and the range of experience on which it can call. As ESP changes its focus we shall retain our links
with the company and may well collaborate again in areas where the strengths of the companies complement each
other."
