Disability premium
The premium will be awarded where either the relevant person or their
partner is registered blind or is getting:
- Long-term Incapacity Benefit or Severe Disablement
Allowance;
- Disability Living Allowance;
- Personal Independence Payment;
- A tax credit that includes a Disability Element in respect of an
adult;
- A main phase (i.e. support or work-related activity component) of
Employment and Support Allowance
Or where the relevant person or partner has been accepted, by the DWP
for benefit purposes, as being incapable of work for at least 52 weeks.
People who do not have the right National Insurance records to
qualify for Employment and Support Allowance may meet this condition.
